Subscribe to Mods on Steam
Open Steam and navigate to the Steam Workshop for Conan Exiles.
Find the mods you want to use and click "Subscribe" on each one. This downloads the mods to your local game installation and ensures your client is ready to connect to your Conan Exiles Enhanced server later.
Locate Your Mod Files
Once the mods are downloaded, locate them on your computer:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\440900
The folder 440900 is the App ID for Conan Exiles. Each numbered folder inside represents a specific mod (based on its Workshop ID). Inside each folder, you’ll find a .pak file, which is the actual mod file you need.
You only need the .pak files, not the numbered folders.
Tip: Keep a simple list of Workshop IDs and corresponding .pak names. This makes updating or removing mods on your Conan Exiles Enhanced server much easier.
Create a Mods Folder on Your Server
Navigate to your server directory:
/ConanSandbox
Create a new folder named exactly:
Mods
Make sure the folder name is correct, as your Conan Exiles Enhanced server will only recognize this exact structure.
Upload Mods to Your Server
To speed up the process, compress all your .pak files into a single .zip archive.
Upload the archive to:
/ConanSandbox/Mods
You can upload using the file manager in your control panel (drag and drop) or via FTP for larger files and more stable uploads.
After uploading, extract the archive directly on the server.
Create the modlist.txt File
Your Conan Exiles Enhanced server loads mods based on a file called modlist.txt.
Create this file inside:
/ConanSandbox/Mods
Add each mod like this:
*betterthralls.pak
*anothermod.pak
Each line represents one mod, and the asterisk (*) at the beginning is required.
Save the file as:
modlist.txt
Restart Your Server
Restart your Conan Exiles Enhanced server to apply the changes.
When the server starts, it reads modlist.txt and loads all listed mods. Once the server is fully running, you can join and start playing on your modded Conan Exiles Enhanced server.
Final Tips for Managing Conan Exiles Enhanced Mods
Keep your mods updated on both the server and client to avoid version mismatches.
Make sure the mod order is identical for all players joining the server.
Remove unused mods properly to prevent conflicts or crashes.
Always restart your Conan Exiles Enhanced server after adding, removing, or updating mods.
