1. Grant Yourself Operator Permissions (OP)
To use creative tools and the asset editor, you must be OP on your server.
Open your server console and run:
op add <player_name>
Press Enter to execute the command.

Optional: You can remove OP permissions later using:
op remove <player_name>
2. Confirm OP Status
If the command worked, the console will confirm that the player is now an operator.

3. Switch to Creative Mode In-Game
You should already be logged in and on your server.
Use the Creative Mode hotkey to switch modes (default: O).

4. Open the Creative Tools Menu
Press B to open the Creative Tools menu.

5. Launch the Asset Editor
Inside Creative Tools:
- Click Assets
- Select Asset Editor
This opens the external Asset Editor application.

6. Create a New Asset Pack
In the Asset Editor:
- Locate Hytale:Hytale (Read-Only)
- Click the three dots
- Select Add Pack

7. Fill in Asset Pack Information
Enter the details for your new asset pack such as:
- Name
- Group
- Version
- Description

8. Asset Pack Folder Created on the Server
A new folder is automatically created inside your server's mods directory.

9. Create a New Asset in Your Pack
Back in the Asset Editor, you'll now see your custom pack selected (e.g. xREALM:xREALM). You can begin creating assets inside it.

10. Open the "Create New Item Asset" Window
Here you can create a new item. You may also copy an existing vanilla item by switching to the Hytale:Hytale pack.

11. Create the New Item Asset
In this example, Armor_Bronze_Chest is copied and a new item named New_Chest_Xrealm is created.
⚠️ Naming Rule:
Unique Asset IDs must follow strict formatting:
- Only A–Z, a–z, 0–9, and
_ - The first letter and letters after
_must be uppercase

12. Create the Required Server Folder Structure
Inside your asset pack folder (e.g. xREALM.xREALM),
manually create the required folder structure by clicking New Directory:
Common/
└── Items/
└── Armors/
└── New Test Armor/
├── Chest.blockymodel
└── Chest_Texture.png
Upload your .blockymodel and .png files into this folder.

13. Check or Edit the Automatically Generated JSON
The Asset Editor creates a JSON file for your item. You can adjust paths, stats, crafting, and more here.

14. Assign Model and Texture in the Asset Editor
Switch to your asset pack and assign:
- The
.blockymodelfile - The
.pngtexture
Make sure they point to your pack, not Hytale:Hytale.

15. Equip the Item for Testing
Click Equip Item. This will spawn the item in your inventory or equip it directly.

16. Verify the Item In-Game
Your custom item should now appear and be available in-game.

And that is how you import a created asset to your xREALM Hytale Server.
